This October marks the 25th edition of the annual Mural Arts Month celebration, writes Mural Arts Philadelphia.

The annual celebration is a time to advocate, inspire, educate the community on how art and Mural Arts Philadelphia can be a catalyst for economic change and empowerment.

This year’s theme is “The Power of Commitment,” and is conducive to Mural Art Philadelphia’s devotion to providing transformative experiences and fostering progressive discourse throughout Philadelphia.

“I think about the power of art all of the time and how the commitment of artists and their works are truly a binding force that can transform societies,” said Jane Golden, executive director of Mural Arts Philadelphia.

Under her stewardship, Golden has aimed to solidify Philadelphia’s reputation as the “Mural Capital of the World,” as it is also the nation’s largest public art program.

The month-long celebration features a long lineup of community events, mural unveilings, artist talks, workshops, tours, and more.

“Philadelphia is home to outstanding talent, and we are thrilled to support the effort to uplift and connect our communities through art,” said Karyn DiMattia, SVP and Head of US Brand, Creative and Sponsorships, at TD Bank.
