The Philadelphia Flyers have unveiled the team’s new home and road uniforms that boast new design elements and features, including the patch for Independence Blue Cross, the club’s first-ever official home jersey patch partner.

The changes made to the design of the uniforms are the first alterations to Flyers’ primary home and away uniforms in 13 years.

“This New Era of Orange is all about honoring our franchise’s storied past while writing an exciting, new chapter of Flyers history,” said Daniel J. Hilferty, Comcast Spectacor Chairman & CEO and Governor of the Philadelphia Flyers.

He added that the new uniforms feature details that honor previous eras but are packed in a modern design.

“And there’s no better company than Independence Blue Cross to be our first jersey patch partner! said Hilferty. “It is an organization that has meant so much to me personally and the entire Philadelphia region.”

The team collaborated with Adidas to bring the new design to life. Many stakeholders were consulted during the process, including season ticket members and Flyers alumni. One of the main changes was the return to “burnt orange” which defined the great teams of the 1980s and 1990s.
