At a combined 202 years old, 100-year-old Bernie Littman and 102-year-old Marjorie Fiterman officially tied the knot on May 19 and become the world's oldest newlyweds.

A centenarian couple who met at their senior living home in Philadelphia before falling in love and getting married have earned the Guinness World Record as the world’s oldest newlyweds, writes Ben Hooper for UPI.

Bernie Littman, 100 years old, and his 102-year-old wife, Marjorie Fiterman, officially tied the knot at their senior living facility on May 19.

After first meeting at a costume party at the facility, the two later discovered both had attended the University of Pennsylvania at the same time, but never crossed paths as students.

In an interview with The Jewish Chronicle, Littman’s granddaughter Sarah Sicherman said the couple were “so lucky to have found each other and be a support to each other, especially during the pandemic.”

Both of them had 60-plus years of marriage with their first spouses before finding love again at 100.

“They both love each other’s humor and intellect,” Sicherman told Guinness World Records, “they keep each other young.”

When asked about what they credit their long lives to, Littman said reading and staying up-to-date on world events, while Fiterman credited her longevity in life to buttermilk.
