Philadelphia Magazine has released its 2024 list of “The 150 Most Influential People in Philly” list and several native Philadelphians are represented.

First up is Philadelphia mayor Cherelle Parker. The city’s 100th mayor of the first female mayor made a promise to make Philly the safest, cleanest, and greenest big city, and her efforts have led to a noticeably down crime rate and over 60,000 clean-up and beautification services.

Another inclusion is Brian Roberts, chairman and CEO of the $152 billion Comcast empire that spans internet, television, and streaming services, TV and movie production, theme parks, live entertainment, and sports teams.

Kevin Mahoney, the CEO of Penn Medicine, has made his way onto the list also. The healthcare institution has topped $10 billion in revenue with just six hospitals with him at the helm.

There’s also Southwest Philadelphia native Joanna McClinton, the first woman to serve as Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

John Middleton, CEO and managing partner of the Philadelphia Phillies, is another inclusion on the list.

There’s also Stephen Starr, the “longtime king of Philly’s restaurant scene” and founder of Starr Restaurants, who is another inclusion to the list.
