Popular actor and Phoenixville native Kevin Bacon will star in the horror-comedy Family Movie alongside his wife, actress Kyra Sedgwick, and their two children, Travis and Sosie Bacon, writes Chris Compendio for the PhillyVoice. 

The foursome will play an eclectic filmmaking family that are working on a low-budget slasher film. The story covers them as they scramble to cover up a murder after a body turns up on set. 

Bacon and Sedgwick are also directing the movie, which is being produced by their entire family under his Mixed Breed Films label together with producer Norman Golightly at Dark Castle Entertainment. 

“There may not be a more compelling Hollywood family than the Bacons,” said Golightly. “We can’t wait to bring their unique dynamic to the screen and then wildly turn it on its head for audiences.” 

Both husband and wife have previous directing experience, however this is their first joint project. Bacon directed Losing Chase, starring Sedgwick, and Loverboy, which has the entire family. 

Meanwhile, Sedgwick directed Story of a Girl and Space Oddity, both of which feature her husband. 

The timeline for the movie’s production has not yet been announced.
