A new documentary highlighting first-year Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner is set to debut on Netflix on October 18, write Tom Dougherty and Josh Sanders for CBS News Philadelphia.

The documentary, called “The Turnaround” is produced by Philadelphia native Kyle Thrash and Oscar-winner Ben Proudfoot.

The documentary follows Phillies fan, Bridesburg resident, and content creator Jon McCann, affectionate known as “The Philly Captain,” who helped spearhead the standing ovation that helped turn Turner’s season around.

“Yo cuz, can you do me a favor? If you’re going to a Phillies game this weekend, let’s not boo Trea Turner this weekend. Let’s give him a standing ovation every time he comes to bat this weekend. …,” McCann said in an August 3 video posted on social media, pleading with his fellow Phillies fans. “And he needs some love. Not tough love, not right now. He needs love-love. So let’s love Trea Turner this weekend and give him a standing ovation every time my man comes to bat.”

At the time, Turner was hitting .235 with a .657 OPS in his first 107 games with the Phillies. However, the support helped turn his season around as he finished the year hitting .337 with a 1.057 OPS in the final 48 regular season games.
