Liz Moore, Philadelphia resident and Temple University professor has published her fifth novel, "The God of the Woods," which is set to become a TV series.

Liz Moore, author and Temple University professor, recently appeared on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon to promote her new book, writes Michaela Althouse for PhillyVoice.

The new book, “The God of the Woods,” is about a child who goes missing from a summer camp. She was inspired to write it based on her own recollection of a summer camp she attended in Adirondack mountains.

“It was probably a very good camp, but I had a terrible experience there,” Moore said.

Moore has a very specific writing process, noting that she tends to let her stories develop while she’s writing. No one in her life sees or hears what she is working on until a draft is complete.

“I never pre-plan my books, unfortunately for me and my family and my friends, because it takes me a long time, and I get very frustrated while I’m writing it,” Moore said. “I basically write until I hit a stopping point, and then I have to go back when I realize it’s not working and then I start over like 50 times, 100 times.”

This is Moore’s fifth novel.

She noted that this book is set to be made into a television series.
