Some of the most enticing eateries have made it onto Philadelphia Magazine’s list of 37 Best Restaurants in Northeast Philly. 

One is Holmesburg Bakery on Frankford Avenue, a 123-year-old neighborhood mainstay offering amazing powdered crème doughnut sandwiches and even tastier mini Key lime pies. 

Seorabol in the 5700 block of Old 2nd Street offers Korean food for the ages. You will not go wrong with any of its offerings, from galbi and bulgogi to kimchi soup and mandu dumplings. 

The Guardhouse Café on Bridge Street is a chef-driven operation with a mouthwatering menu that has everything from fried maitake mushrooms to huge grilled cheese sandwiches. 

Meanwhile, Asadero Los Tios on Holme Avenue offers a menu for all seasons with elotes and plantain in the summer and burritos and birria tacos for the colder weather. 

Asad’s Hot Chicken on Roosevelt Blvd. might have long lines, but the wait is always worth it – especially if you are a true aficionado of spicy food. At Asad’s, hot means HOT.
