Philadelphia Man Among Contestants Looking for Love on First Season of ‘The Golden Bachelorette’
Charles L., a Philadelphia man, will be among a handful of men competing on the inaugural season of “The Golden Bachelorette,” writes Franki Rudnesky for PhillyVoice.
Charles is a 66-year-old retired financial analyst and father of two, according to his ABC bio.
He grew up in rural China and moved to the United States with only $20 in his pocket, his bio continues. Charles is now a Philadelphia resident.
His dreams include going to the moon. He also loves to fish and watch the NBA Finals.
However, his more imminent goal is to find love.
“Once you have a loved one next to you, or along you, you know, your life becomes much fuller,” Charles L. said in a promo that was posted to Instagram. “And I have a lot to share.”
For this inaugural season of “The Golden Bachelorette,” contestants will vie for the love of Joan Vassos, a 61-year-old grandmother and school administrator.
Vassos was a contestant on last year’s premiere season of “The Golden Bachelor.”
The inaugural season of “The Golden Bachelorette” is set to premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 18 on ABC.
