Little Walter's is a new Polish restaurant and bar in East Kensington. The new eatery is an homage to Chef Michael Brenfleck's Polish roots.

Little Walter’s, a new Polish restaurant and bar, has officially opened its doors in East Kensington, writes Jason Sheehan for Philadelphia Magazine.

The new eatery is the brainchild of Chef Michael Brenfleck, who has spent years working his way through Philadelphia kitchens. He most recently served as executive chef at Spice Finch in Center City.

With Little Walter’s, he is focusing on the traditions of Polish gastronomy that he grew up with.

The opening menu features Polish comfort food and classics, like potato and cheese pierogi ruskie, pickled vegetables, plates of kielbasa, rotisserie pork over bigos, and house-made sourdough rye.

Overall, the menu is perfect for fans of Eastern European cuisine and potatoes.

The list of cocktails is heavy on pickle juice, plum brandy, and Polish spirits.
