Former City Buns Owner Adjusts Business Model, Successfully Launches Bakery in West Chester

By

The former City Buns owner Vicky Lambert recently adjusted her business model and kicked off an updated concept in West Chester in December to great success, writes Gina Lizzo for Main Line Today.

The recently opened bakery, Happy Bakery, offers an expanded menu that also includes cookies, brownies, petite cakes, and so much more.

Before opening her own bakery, Lambert was working in a biochem lab as a lab technician. She did not like her job, so when she saw the available space, she decided to take a risk and start her own business.

However things did not immediately fall into place.

“I definitely bit off way more than I could chew,” she said. “I had no idea what I was getting myself into, and I got so burned out.”

Despite City Buns doing well, she felt like something was missing, so she decided to make some changes and implement a new concept.

“I call it Happy Bakery because now I’ve been incorporating all the things I love,” she said. “I did a lot more product research and really tested my abilities.”
