Aramark is one of three Philadelphia companies to make this year's Fortune 500 list.

The 2024 edition of the Fortune 500 list has been released and it shows a decrease in the number of Fortune 500 companies in the Greater Philadelphia area from 13 in each of the previous three years to 11 this year, writes Ryan Sharrow for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Of the 11 area companies that found its way onto the list, three are based in Philadelphia.

Comcast, which is at No. 33, moved down four spots from last year as its revenue decreased 0.1 percent to $121.6 billion.

Rite Aid is at No. 171 on the list, moving down 10 spots from last year as its revenue decreased 1.9 percent to $24.1 billion.

At No. 220 on the list is Aramark, which moved up 33 spots from last year as its revenue increased 15.5 percent to $18.85 billion.

Of the 11 Philadelphia-area companies to make the Fortune 500 list, 5 saw themselves move up on the list, while 6 went down.

Fortune found that the 500 companies on this year’s list represent about two-thirds of the gross domestic product in the United States, with $18.8 trillion in combined revenues and $1.7 trillion in profits.
