S&T Bank Expands Support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Across All Banks
It all began with one lemonade stand in a little girl’s front yard.
At just four years old, Alexandra (Alex) Scott decided to help raise money for research, as she was battling childhood cancer. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) has raised over 300 million dollars for the cause.
In 2023, S&T Bank partnered with ALSF for the first time, and this summer, S&T Bank plans to expand that support across all its Banks.
Inspired by Alex, who passed away in 2004 after fundraising tirelessly, ALSF continues supporting her legacy as a non-profit organization whose mission is to change the lives of children with cancer. The organization funds impactful research, raises awareness, supports families, and empowers everyone to help find a cure for childhood cancer.
“We are proud to expand our partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand this year,” said CEO Chris McComish. “Our people-forward purpose means that we prioritize giving back to our communities by supporting charities like Alex’s Lemonade Stand. In 2023, we proudly raised more than $30,000 in Central and Southeastern Pennsylvania. This year, we are expanding our lemonade stands throughout all of our markets to support the great work that ALSF is doing.”
“I always wanted to get involved with this wonderful non-profit,” stated Frank Monterosso, S&T Brand Ambassador Consultant. “For so many years, I would see kids setting up lemonade stands and raising money to help cure pediatric cancer, and in my role at the Bank, I felt I had the opportunity to do something more. S&T is so involved in communities, and they care deeply about the needs of children, so I made the call to ALSF. I’m so excited to work to exceed the $30,000 we raised last year by fundraising at 75 locations for the full week. Everyone is really eager to raise as much as we can.”
Monterosso has been coordinating this effort with James Robinson, Regional Baking Manager.
“To know that whatever amount we raise could someday help a researcher find a cure for pediatric cancer means we made a difference in someone’s life,” said Robinson. “It’s all about these kids and Alex who started this out of her desire to make sure no other children would suffer. When you witness someone pass by the stand, reach into their pocket, and hand you a donation, it means the world. And working for a company that is 100 percent committed to these types of fundraisers means everything. It ignites a passion in all of our employees to help, and the feeling is truly contagious.”
Alex’s mom and Co-Executive Director at Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Liz Scott, is very thankful for the continued support.
“We are delighted that S&T Bank chose to partner with us again this June,” she said. “We couldn’t be prouder of S&T’s team and its volunteers at Bank locations throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio for their commitment to helping find a cure for childhood cancer. We’re also very thankful for S&T’s customers who come out and support the cause.”
Lemonade Days will run Jun. 1-8. Learn more about this partnership and how to donate at S&T Bank.
