A Collegeville Eatery Just Might Have the Sauciest Chicken Cutlet Sandwiches in the Region
Judging by its name, Collegeville Italian Bakery Pizzeria Napoletana is many things, including a bakery, pizzeria, market and deli.
From its many delicious menu options, one in particular stands out — its chicken cutlet sandwiches, writes Jenn Ladd for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Bangin’ Cutlet Sandwich is anchored by two hand-pounded and breaded cutlets on a housemade long roll and drenched in burrata, blush sauce, and Mike’s Hot Honey.
So much sauce is used that the cutlets and bread can’t even soak it all up, as half the sauce slides right off the sandwich on the first bite.
“It’s a hot mess, but that’s why they invented napkins,” said owner Steve Carcarey.
Only added to the menu just over a year ago, the eatery has sold over 60,000 Bangin’ cutlet sandwiches since.
Among the notable people to order the sandwich include Marc Vetri. Other big names who have visited the eatery? WDAS host Patty Jackson, Bob Kelly of FOX 29, Carson Wentz, Rhys Hoskins, and Joel Embiid.
The cutlet sandwiches are its calling card so to speak.
“You can get a cheesesteak anywhere, you can get hoagie anywhere,” Carcarey said. “We’ll put that cutlet up against any sandwich in Philadelphia.”
