Once Dilapidated Chester County Barn Finds New Life as Entertainment Venue
A weathered Chester County barn has been renovated and turned into a stunning entertaining space, writes Eileen Smith Dallabrida for the Main Line Today.
The barn has a special meaning for its new owner. She used to ride her pony past the barn and adjacent stables as a girl. As an adult, she decided to purchase the property.
“The space had so much sentimental value to me, but it was dilapidated,” she said. “I needed help turning my vision into new memories.”
She decided to hire Lancaster County-based B&D Builders, barn experts with over two decades of experience, who managed to bring her entire wish list to life.
The stables still keep their vintage exterior, but the inside now houses a luxury apartment.
“They gutted the old space and turned it into an absolutely beautiful vaulted one,” said the owner. “They added a proper bathroom and a private office.”
Meanwhile, the party barn has received a new exposed-beam ceiling with massive chandeliers, a large kitchen, and an HVAC system.
“It’s a beautiful space, with most of the details handmade using historic materials or processes,” said the owner.
