Meet Susan C. Small, A Creative Who Helps Other Creatives Build Their Brands
Susan C. Small opened Small House in 2020 to help creative entrepreneurs through each step of the way as they go through the brand-building process, reports Alicia Vitarelli for 6abc.
Small is a poet, author, recording artist, and playwright who initially started her entrepreneurial venture with Small House as a production company in 2012.
In 2015, she wrote her first children’s musical, titled, “Princess Nylah and the Journey to the Magic Window.”
“That was a major hit for our company,” said Small.
When the pandemic hit, causing a pause in productions, she turned the musical into a children’s book of the same title.
As a mother of four, Small has long been driven by a desire to increase diversity and representation.
“I’m a creative and I know some of the challenges that creatives often face, whether it’s resources or community,” she said.
With Small House, she helps authors publish and sell their books.
Her team includes editors, artists, makeup artists, photographers, videographers, and more, each dedicated to helping their clients.
Small House is located inside MaKen Studios in Kensington and features space for content creation and small events.
