Penn Community Bank, the largest independent mutual bank in eastern Pennsylvania, recently supported Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County’s current build project at the site of the former St. Thomas Aquinas School in Croydon.

Team members spent the day working on various jobs throughout the site, which will include three single-family homes and follow the organization’s Land Trust model.

The former location of the St. Thomas Aquinas School in the Croydon section of Bristol Township is undergoing a significant transformation. Rebranded as St. Thomas Court, the site at 130 Walnut St. is being converted from a vacant building into three new homes. These homes, sponsored by Habitat for Humanity, aim to provide affordable homeownership opportunities, offering families a pathway to a brighter future and a direct route out of poverty, according to Habitat officials. The collaborative efforts of the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority, Blue Rock Construction, Parx Casino, Penn Community Bank, Pulte Group, Woodside Church, and William Penn Bank play a crucial role in the property’s transformation. Additionally, the redevelopment initiative secured funding through a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Financing Authority.
