Coatesville Native Now Motivational Speaker, Author After Surviving a Deadly Car Accident

By

In 2011, Coatesville native Ethan A. Poetic survived a nearly fatal car crash that had left him with numerous injuries, writes Matteo Iadonisi for 6ABC.

“99 percent chance of death versus 1 percent of life. That means I shouldn’t be here,” Poetic said.

Three of five people survived the horrendous accident, Poetic being one of them. While he initially struggled with survivors’ guilt, Poetic decided to use his grief as a “celebration of life” and committed to using his experience as a way of inspiring others.

He never intended to tell his story, but almost thirteen years later, he found a passion and purpose in doing so. Now, Poetic is now a keynote speaker, entrepreneur, published author, mental health advocate, and youth mentor.

Most recently, he visited the children at King’s Highway Elementary School in Coatesville, sharing pieces from his book, entitled, The Inspirational Story of Ethan A. Poetic: Chronicles of Adversities, Education, Sports, Relationships, & Resiliency.

“There will be more to come,” said Poetic. “The best is yet to come.”
