Bacon is the Star At Philadelphia’s First and Only Bacon-Inspired Restaurant, Bake ‘n Bacon
While bacon is often a breakfast food or paired with another food item, bacon is a main commodity at Bake ‘n Bacon, reports Wendy Daughenbaugh for 6abc.
Bake ‘n Bacon is Philadelphia’s first and only bacon-inspired restaurant where bacon is the star of the show.
Some menu items include bacon Mac n’ cheese, and hanging bacon dripping over cornbread.
Customers may also like the baby back ribs or a pork board with pork shoulder, million-dollar bacon, or bacon-infused grits.
There are even cocktail drinks with bacon, and bacon-inspired desserts, like the house-made pound cake with a bacon caramel sauce.
“We just like to try new things … we’ve done so many creative dishes with bacon,” said co-founder Justin Coleman.
While bacon is a key ingredient in most of its dishes, it’s not the only thing on the menu.
Non-bacon items include vegan spaghetti and meatballs, pasta with chicken, mussels with linguine, lobster roll, and at least six different varieties of mac n’ cheese.
Bake ‘n Bacon got its start as a food truck in 2016 before recently gaining its first brick-and-mortar in South Philadelphia.
Coleman hopes to build several more locations across the U.S. to create his own “bacon empire,” he said.
