Philadelphia-based ImpactableX, founded by University of Pennsylvania alum Catherine Griffin, is looking to raise $750,000 to advance its analytics platform by tapping into artificial intelligence, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Griffin came to the idea for ImpactableX when she was a managing partner at GoodCompany Ventures, an investment firm that works with socially conscious startups.

GoodCompany Ventures joined the Obama administration’s Climate Data Initiative along with major institutions such as NASA and the United Nations, which wanted to connect with startups GoodCompany Ventures had in its portfolio.

Griffin set up a suite of “off-the-shelf tools” that would help such startups evoke just how much of a social impact they could have.

“Their products and services, when delivered at scale, could potentially move the needle on some really tough challenges. So we developed them this sort of scaffolding behind Impactable[X],” said Griffin.

In early 2021, Griffin launched ImpactableX, which has worked with more than 100 companies and many impact funds, accelerators, and brands.

After completing the TechStars Anywhere accelerator this year, ImpactableX is now moving forward by leaning into artificial intelligence.

“That’s really going to enable us to scale because we do quite a bit of research for every company in order to run the analytics,” said Griffin.
