Healthcare Apparel Brand Figs is Bringing a Store to Philadelphia Next Year

Figs, the clothing brand that has sold uniforms online for individuals working in the heatlhcare field, is expanding its reach into the brick-and-mortar space, writes Deborah Belgum for WWD.
Its first official store was recently opened in Los Angeles, with plans to bring a second Figs store to Philadelphia in Rittenhouse Square during the first half of 2024.
“We’ve always had retail as part of our vision, to have a healthcare-oriented store for health care professionals,” said Trina Spear, Figs co-founder and chief executive.
The space will serve as a place to buy clothing, and will also operate as a community hub for professionals with events focused on important issues impacting healthcare workers.
Figs selected Philadelphia as the location for its second store due to its large concentration of medical schools and medical students.
“One in six doctors is trained in Philadelphia. Students are a big priority for us. If we can catch them early on in their career, they will be with us for 35 to 40 years,” said Spear.
Figs was co-founded in 2013 to provide comfortable and trendy clothing for healthcare workers.
In 2021, it became the first company led by two women entrepreneurs to become a publicly traded entity on the New York Stock Exchange.
