Forbes: Small Businesses Have More Marketing Options Than Ever, This Is What They Are Focusing on For 2024
Small businesses, which used to rely primarily on print and traditional media advertisements and cold calling before the internet, today have more marketing options at their disposal than ever, writes John Hall for Forbes.
According to a recent marketing survey by Taradel, the majority (94 percent) have plans to increase their marketing spending in 2024.
A lot of those marketing dollars will go toward advertising on social media, which has become the central area of concentration for many small businesses.
Not many marketing channels have proven to be as cost-effective as social media ads thanks to their ability to target specific users and areas.
Plenty of small businesses still rely on traditional direct mail for their marketing campaigns. Nearly 61 percent of small businesses surveyed said they plan to use direct mail in 2024.
Search engine marketing – which aims to have the company appear at the top of Internet search engine results – also continues to thrive.
Email and content marketing are two more venues where many small businesses are investing their marketing money in 2024, and some are still focusing on traditional media.
