With the final quarter of the year upon us and the fall weather creeping in, fall treats like apple cider donuts are all the buzz, writes Kalena Thomhave for The Keystone

Pennsylvania isn’t without its share of quality places to find the sweet dessert, and Philadelphia has a selection, as well.

Okie Dokie Donuts is one. The South Philadelphia-based small business produces handmade artisanal, gluten-free donuts.

What was started by Carol Ha in 2012 as a side project has grown into a full-time business. The goal from the start has been to spread happiness with gluten-free donuts.

In the decade-plus since, Okie Dokie Donuts has grown into a full-time business with catering services for events, direct retail, and wholesale services at a number of other local establishments.

You can also find apple cider donuts at Beiler’s Doughnuts

For over 30 years, the multi-generational Beiler’s Doughnuts has been a staple at Reading Terminal Market, serving traditional donuts.

Fedor’s Travel recently named Beiler’s as one of the 20 best dessert spots in the U.S.

There is also a Beiler’s Doughnuts location in Lancaster
