Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Chicken Restaurant Opens in Comcast Center Concourse
Lovers of delicious spicy chicken rejoice: NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Chicken has finally arrived in Philadelphia, reports FOX 29 Philadelphia.
The restaurant chain officially opened the doors on its newest location in the Comcast Center Concourse last week.
This is the chain’s store number 23, said Josh Halpern, CEO of Big Chicken. As a former Philadelphia resident, he emphasized that the new restaurant is not trying to compete with the city’s staple meals, cheesesteaks and hoagies.
The new eatery wants to provide its own “big flavor, big food, and big fun,” he said. “We’re a completely different game. I love a good Philly cheesesteak or a roast pork sandwich, this is just a little different.”
The menu includes anything from chicken sandwiches and popcorn chicken to milkshakes as well as a big cookie. One thing is for sure: you will not still be hungry after eating here as the portions are huge.
Most of the offerings are named after things related to Shaq’s life. This includes the M.D.E. – Most Dominant Ever, one of the former player’s nicknames – a hefty chicken breast that is perfectly crispy.
Watch the entire segment at FOX 29 Philadelphia.
