Magical Holiday Tours Coming to Fonthill Castle in Doylestown
Fonthill Castle in Doylestown is gearing up to celebrate the holiday season with a variety of special events and tours, running from November 16 to December 31, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
The castle, the former home of Henry Chapman Mercer, is a National Historic Landmark operated by the Bucks County Historical Society. Each year, its interior gets transformed into a winter wonderland.
This winter will offer three different ways to experience the holidays at Fonthill Castle.
Winter Wonderland Daily Guided Tours will be available on weekdays and November weekends. The one-hour guided tours of the castle will showcase Henry Mercer’s home decked out in its holiday decorations and share the history of the former owner and the construction of this unique property.
Holiday Lights Meander Days will take place on Saturdays and Sundays throughout December. Visitors will be able to explore the rooms and trees on the 2024 Holiday Lights Meander tour route within the castle at their own pace.
Finally, Guided Holiday Evening Tours at Fonthill Castle will provide guests with an opportunity to explore Fonthill Castle decked out for the holidays in the candlelight.
