Intercultural Journeys Rebrands After 22 Years, Now Known As Journey Arts
Intercultural Journeys, the West Philadelphia arts organization, has rebranded after more than 100 productions and 22 years, and will now be known as Journey Arts, writes Ali Mohsen for Billy Penn at WHYY.
According to the team, the new name and branding will align with more ambitious projects, additional funding, and extended development periods for artists.
“We wanted to create something that would take us into the next hopefully 10,15, 20 years as an organization with this new type of work we’re attempting to do,” said Nia Benjamin, director of creative projects.
Over its 22-year history, Journey Arts has evolved into a multi-genre producing organization that has helped realize the visions of creators working in increasingly varied mediums.
“We help artists who come to us with the seed of an idea, imagine what the end result might look like, and help take them along that journey,” said Carly Rapaport-Stein, executive director of the nonprofit.
The help ranges from finding funding and securing performance venues, to providing creative development and increasing exposure.
