Here’s What Villanova’s Planning With Its $75M Cabrini Campus Renovation

By

Villanova University is hoping to eventually house 900 of its students at the Cabrini University campus in Radnor when it completes $75 million in renovations there, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Villanova President Rev. Peter M. Donohue said a handful of old buildings on the campus will be demolished but the historic Woodcrest mansion will be preserved.

The 1901 mansion is a centerpiece of the campus designed by Horace Trumbauer.

Villanova acquired the Cabrini campus for $11.5 million. It is also paying $45 million covering Cabrini’s long-term debt. Cabrini University closed in May.

The campus will reopen in the fall of 2026 as the Villanova University Cabrini Campus containing academic programs, newly-renovated student life spaces, residential buildings and athletic facilities.

The acquired campus will allow Villanova to add nearly 1,000 students over several years.

It will offer unique dining options for students, recreational facilities, study spaces and classes.

“I really want the campus to have a Villanova feel to it, to make it look in some ways like our other campus, that there’s a feeling that you’re still at Villanova,” Donohue said.
