New Cookbook ‘Zahav Home’ is Your Guide to Elevating Your Cooking Skills
The new cookbook “Zahav Home” aims to help you make food at home that tastes like it was prepared by a James Beard Award-winning chef, writes Ian Bush for KYW Newsradio.
“Zahav Home” is co-written by two James Beard Award-winning chefs, Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook. The pair co-own the acclaimed Zahav restaurant in Society Hill and the hospitality empire, CookNSolo Restaurants.
“We wanted to create a cookbook that actually worked for people, whether you had 15 minutes, whether you had a little bit more time that you could put into dinner without a tremendous amount of cleanup,” said Solomonov. “That was our goal.”
The book includes a shopping list of the things you should have on hand in the fridge and stocked in your pantry, including some spices that can help the reader expand their flavor horizons, such as black lime powder and za’atar.
There are about 125 recipes and plenty of photos that break down step how and why to get certain flavors.
Solomonov shared a message for those who pick up the new book.
“ Use it. Get it messy. Get it dirty. Try things out. There’s something in there for everybody, including you, my friend. Cook in health and with happiness,” he said.
