Teachers’ Teammates Once Again Gets Supplies Where They’re Most Needed
A nonprofit once again helped teachers get the supplies they needed for the classroom as another school year gets underway.
Teachers’ Teammates runs a 3,000 square-foot warehouse in Folcroft that has everything a classroom, a teacher, and a student needs, like folders, crayons, notebooks and backpacks, writes Madeleine Wright for CBS Philadelphia, as reported at msn.com.
Leading the operation is Teachers’ Teammate founder and executive director Raelyn Harman.
The organization was founded in 2020 and has distributed more than $2 million worth of supplies to seven Delaware County school districts.
“Educators or teachers can pay $40 for a two-year membership,” Harman said. “They order once a quarter up to 25 items. Everything from that point on is free.”
Harman and her team find the items in the warehouse for packing, to be picked up later or delivered to schools.
The nonprofit is supported by financial donations and by different organizations that will run their own school supply drives and donate the collection to Teachers’ Teammates.
Office supply donations are also accepted from companies purging supplies in a building move, Harman said.
Her next goal is to move to a bigger warehouse to serve even more Delaware County schools.
