Local Multiple Sclerosis Advocate Honored With State Citation
Bucks County resident Joseph “Smiley” Terinoni was recently presented with a citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
State Representatives Tim Brennan and Brian Munroe honored him for his efforts to both raise money and advocate for people living with Multiple Sclerosis, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
Terinoni has taken part in the “Bike MS: City to Shore Ride” for 20 consecutive years with a group of friends and relatives who are all racing for “Team Smiley.”
He works at the Bagel Barrel in Doylestown, where he also offers customers a chance to contribute to charities.
Terinoni has so far raised $50,656 and counting for events hosted by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Delaware Valley, including through the race, charity bowling events, and many other organized events.
“Joe is a tireless advocate and fundraiser for people living with Multiple Sclerosis,” said Brennan. “His hard work and determination to ensure there are resources dedicated toward treatment, solutions, and a cure is so worthy of our admiration and recognition.”
Terinoni will be taking part in and raising funds for this year’s City to Shore Ride, which will take place on Sept. 28.
