Brewerytown is one of the most underrated neighborhoods in Philadelphia’s dining scene that has plenty to offer for every taste and mood, writes Gregory Wakeman for Philadelphia Magazine.
The Boozy Mutt is the perfect spot for dog lovers. Dog owners can enjoy supremely tasty comfort food — such as the delicious buffalo-style fried chicken sandwich — as they watch their four-legged friends run around the 6,500-square-foot indoor and outdoor park open year-round.
Rybrew moved into a bigger and brighter location early last year and quickly established itself as the premium place for sandwiches, panini, and a sizable selection of beers. The eatery has a sandwich for every mood, including The Kansas City, a slow-roasted pulled pork served on a fresh brioche bun.
Green Eggs Cafe has locations throughout Philadelphia and has long been considered the gold standard. Highlights include the red velvet pancakes and crème brûlée French toast.
Era offers affordable, authentic Ethiopian food that is among some of the best in the city. Local favorites include its doro wot and gomen made from collard greens and split lentils.
Meanwhile, Irie Jamaican Restaurant serves up mounds of curry goat, oxtail, jerk chicken, and red snapper for its diners.
