Another Philly Special: New Eagles Christmas Album in the Works

By

Fear not, Philly Special Christmas album fans. A third album is in the works, according to Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson.

Eagles teammates Johnson, Jordan Mailata and Jason Kelce hope to get an album together soon for this year, according to 6abc, as reported at WHYY.

Talk of a new album started to emerge at an Eagles practice Aug. 13 when Johnson lamented missing retired center Jason Kelce.

Asked about a new Christmas album, Johnson said they’ve been working on it and hope to have something new for this year.

A new album would mark the third of the Philly Specials in which Johnson, Kelce and Mailata collaborate on a Christmas-themed album with Eagles embellishments, assisted by a number of guest artists.

Last year’s “A Philly Special Christmas Special,” with a holiday variety show theme, included a duet with Jason and Travis Kelce. It raised more than $3 million for local charities, including Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

The first album, “A Philly Special Christmas” was a huge hit making the Billboard charts and raising $1.25 million for charity.

The albums are recorded at a studio in Conshohocken.
