Chip City, the cookie maker with first opened in Queens and since has opened in 38 other locations, is aiming to open its first Philadelphia location by mid-July.

Chip City Cookies, the New York-based cookie and dessert maker, is planning to enter the Philadelphia market by opening its first store this summer in Rittenhouse Square, writes Emma Dooling for The Philadelphia Inquirer

The hope is to open its doors by mid-July.

While it puts the finishing touches on its Rittenhouse location, the company is already searching for more real estate in the Philadelphia area.

Peter Phillips, co-founder and CEO, said he believes the business could open up to five new stores in the city and five more in the suburbs.

“[A Philadelphia store has] been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, so I’m really happy that it’s finally come to fruition and I’m really excited to see what we’re able to do as a brand in Philadelphia,” Phillips said.

Chip City was founded in Queens in 2017, and has since expanded to 38 locations across the United States.

The company is best known for the more than 60 flavors on its menu, which rotates weekly. Its core cookies include chocolate chip, cookies and cream, s’mores, and triple chocolate, while some unique flavors include Cookie Butter, Baklava, Cap’n Crunch, and two vegan options.
