These Popular Spots Make Philadelphia Magazine’s ‘Best of Philly’ Fun and Games List
Philadelphia has much to offer when it comes to entertainment, and these popular spots have made their way onto the 50th iteration of the Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best of Philly” list.
Anna C. Verna Playground at FDR Park was awarded the title of the Best Playground, in large part due to having the largest swing set in the country. It also features many other nifty things to climb on and ride down, such as a 25-foot slide.
The Best Fun on Wheels title went to Zembo Temple of Skate and Design. The skate shop features indoor skateboarding ramps and other skating equipment, and also hosts yoga, concerts, and comedy.
B. West made the list as the Best Venue Transformation. Formerly the storied gay club Key West is now a popular performance space, bar, and dance club hosting regular events such as a fashion-design contest called Seam Queen and Latin dance parties.
The Best Culture on the Cheap can be found at the Fabric Workshop and Museum. The free museum boasts inventive programming in the contemporary art realm that should not be missed.
Meanwhile, the Best New Hiking Trail is the Trolley Trail. This scenic trail through the Fairmount Park woods follows an old scenic trolley path and makes parts of the park more accessible.
