Diggs Boys Bourbon will soon be available in Pennsylvania stores. In 2025, the hope is to open a new distillery in Philadelphia.

Diggs Boys Bourbon, a spirits company launched during the COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020, will soon be available in Pennsylvania as it also plans a new distillery and tasting room in Philadelphia, writes Michaela Althouse for PhillyVoice.

The brand is expected to hit Pennsylvania liquor stores later this month, while the Philadelphia distillery and tasting room is expected to open in 2025.

Diggs Boys Bourbon was founded by Ernest Drummond, Howard Riley, and Michael Earley. The Black-owned spirits company specializes in bourbon and rye whiskey.

Its first product, the high-rye bourbon, was released in January 2022. Initially sold online, it’s now available at stores in 12 U.S. states, until Pennsylvania is soon added to the list.

The trio of entrepreneurs have been looking at potential distillery spaces in Germantown, Mount Airy, and East Falls with hopes of finding a place suitable for tours and tasting bourbon and whiskey flights.

Diggs Boys also plans to begin an internship program for students seeking to break into the industry.

“That’s been a mission of ours, a mission of mine, to bring that experience to Philadelphia and have a distillery and tasting room and a place where we can get together, have a good time, experience whiskey and spirits, (and) cigars, and just create and continue the legacy of what we’ve been doing for years,” Earley said.
