These Eateries Serve Some of Best Tacos in Philadelphia

El Mezcal Cantina in Point Breeze is a Mexican restaurant with a range of Mexican regional influences on the menu, but the main highlight is the tiny al pastor tacos with marinated pork, made in beet-dyed corn tortillas or tortillas made with bright green hoja santa.

Blue Corn at the Italian Market offers delicious cochinita pibil tacos. A local favorite is Yucatán-style pork marinated in citrus and wrapped in banana leaves to be cooked low and slow.

Meanwhile, Cantina La Martina in Kensington is a tavern-esque corner spot with a large outdoor patio that serves a mouthwatering chicken taco lined with banana peppers with a layer of melted Chihuahua cheese.

Family-owned La Chingonita in Fishtown serves up fresh and flavorful tortas and tacos near the neighborhood’s main strip.

Those looking for a great breakfast taco should head to TacoTaco Mexicano in West Philadelphia. The eatery offers potato, egg, and cheese-stuffed tacos every Saturday and Sunday.
