These Two Philadelphia Eateries Are Some of the Best for Barbecue
While Pennsylvania isn’t exactly known for its barbecue, the state has some restaurants where you can find some incredible and unique barbecue dishes, writes Kalena Thomhave for The Keystone.
Philadelphia has two such restaurants.
Sang Kee Peking Duck House, a Chinatown favorite, is one of them.
While not a traditional barbecue spot, Philadelphians often flock from all over to try its Chinese barbecue dishes.
Since 1980, the eatery has served its namesake duck and it’s now one of the most famous dishes in the city.
Other popular Hong Kong-style barbecue dishes at Sang Kee Peking Duck House include many different variations of chicken, beef, and pork.
Another notable food spot known for its barbecue dishes in Zig Zag BBQ in Kensington.
Still relatively new to the Philly barbecue scene, Zig Zag BBQ has already built a reputation for how it serves its barbecue in an offbeat, welcoming way.
The star is the twice-smoked and chopped brisket. However, many also like the side dish of queso mac and cheese garnished with a sprinkling of Flamin’ Hot Cheeto dust.
Customers can orders meats there by the pound or on a sandwich.
