Turn 7 Owner Seeks to Bring More Discount Retail Stores Throughout Greater Philadelphia
Rick Forman, founder of discount retailer Turn 7 and local discount chain Forman Mills, is looking to expand the brand’s footprint in the Greater Philadelphia region, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
This comes as one of its existing stores gets ready to close.
Forman is looking for more locations throughout the region to open other outposts following its success over the last three years.
Turn 7 debuted in August 2021 at the Roosevelt Mall in Northeast Philadelphia, and later opened stores at Philadelphia Mills and the Moorestown Mall.
The Roosevelt Mall location closed after Forman decided it was too small, while the Moorestown Mall location is set to close on June 21 when its lease expires.
“I wanted to test this out, and it works. And now I’m ready to explode,” said Forman.
Ahead of the Moorestown Mall location’s closure, Forman hopes to sell the entirety of its $8 million of remaining merchandise. Everyone is up for sale with deals up to 90 percent off.
Turn 7 is known for selling products such as electronics, furniture, apparel, and sporting goods. It acquires its merchandise from large retailers that would otherwise sent to landfills. It then resells them at a deeply-discounted price.
