Yardley Ice House Marks 30 Years with Charity T-Shirt and Local Art Celebration
The Yardley Ice House celebrated its 30th anniversary by unveiling a commemorative t-shirt and donating a portion of the day’s proceeds to the Artists of Yardley, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
AOY is a non-profit that aims to support creativity in the community. The t-shirt was designed by the organization’s member Yvonne Reyes and is available for sale at the Ice House on South Main Street while supplies last.
Reyes’ design won the contest organized by the AOY coordinated by board member Grant Cohen.
During the celebration, Cohen, together with State Rep. Perry Warren, congratulated the winner and acknowledged the nonprofit’s partnership with the ice house.
Warren, a Newtown resident, is a frequent visitor of the store that is located within walking distance of his office.
“We’re happy to have this high-quality product in Newtown now as well,” he said.
He also praised the partnership between the shop and the AOY.
“It’s nice to see a business institution and an artistic institution putting their efforts together,” he said.
Ice house founders John and Susan Bissert who ran the shop until 2022 were also present for the celebration.
