Penn Law School has been ranked among the top law schools in the region. Along with Temple Law, Drexel Law, and Villanova Law.

U.S. News & World Report has released its annual rankings of the top law schools, and Philadelphia is well-represented, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School ranked No. 4 in the list for the second consecutive year. It is tied at 4th with Duke University, Harvard University, and the University of Virginia law schools.

Meanwhile, both Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law and Temple University’s Beasley School of Law were also included in the list.

Villanova ranked at No. 48 on the list, slipping from its No. 43 ranking from last year.

Temple, on the other hand, held steady at No. 54, which is where it ranked last year, as well.

Drexel University’s Kline School of Law moved from No. 80 last year to No. 75 this year.

Three local law schools also ranked in the top 10 in specialty areas.

Penn finished fourth for business and corporate law, fifth in contracts/commercial law, and seventh in criminal law. Temple finished first in trial advocacy, while Drexel finished eighth.
