102-year-old Marjorie Fiterman and 100-year-old Bernie Littman, recently got married in Philadelphia after nine years together.

After dating for over nine years, 102-year-old Marjorie Fiterman and 100-year-old Bernie Littman decided to throw a surprise wedding and tie the knot at the senior living facility in Philadelphia where they first met, writes Christine Rousselle for the New York Post.

The wedding was officiated by Rabbi Adam Wohlberg, who noted that the couple were unlike most others he has married in the past.

“Most of the couples I marry these days met on some kind of dating app,” he said. “I much prefer the old ways. You live in the same building, you bump into each other, and you fall in love.”

Both Fiterman and Littman were previously married, but given their advanced age, most of their families did not think they would be getting married again. In fact, neither did they.

But they had “eventually reached the point where being not just close friends — but husband and wife — felt like the right step to take,” said Wohlberg.

And while they got married after they had both passed the 100-year milestone, they nearly met much earlier, as they were both at University of Pennsylvania at the same time.

“I am already picturing the two of you on the cover of the alumni magazine’s next edition,” joked the rabbi.
