Abandoned Puppy Found Tied Outside Pennsylvania SPCA’s Philadelphia Headquarters Finds Her Forever Home
A five-month-old puppy with teary eyes left tied to a pole outside of the Pennsylvania SPCA’s Philadelphia headquarters on May 8 with a note saying she is a “good puppy” has found her forever home, writes Bailey Richards for People.
The note left with the pup reads: “Cane Corso – pit mastiff. Born 12-15-23. Good Puppy. House Broken. Don’t Have A Name.”
The Pennsylvania SPCA staff wrote in a May 10 post on Facebook that the puppy “had discharge from her eyes that made her look as if she had been crying.”
“We literally had to wipe away the tears from her eyes,” the organization wrote in another post. “Our hearts broke for her. She was so terrified.”
Luckily, the girl, now named Minerva, found her forever home a few days after being found.
Gillian Kocher, director of public relations & marketing for the Pennsylvania SPCA, noted that she is happy that Minerva is getting the attention she deserves.
Unfortunately, she added, Minerva is not the only abandoned puppy and rescuers are struggling to help all the animals that need it.
“Shelters across the country are full and struggling to place animals,” said Kocher. “If anyone is considering adopting, now is the time!”
Kocher hopes more stories have happy endings like this.
