New $25 Million Government Services Center to Transform Lower Bucks County

By

Construction is set to begin within weeks on the new Lower Bucks County Government Services Center, following the Bucks County Commissioners’ approval of approximately $20 million in initial construction contracts, writes Tom Sofield for Levittown Now.

The project, totaling around $25 million, will be on New Falls Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section, replacing an outdated 8,600-square-foot annex with a modern 39,000-square-foot facility.

The new two-story building will house 13 county departments that are currently dispersed across several locations in Lower Bucks County, including rented spaces.

The move is expected to centralize operations and reduce overhead costs.

The commissioners, comprised of two Democrats and one Republican, greenlit the project after extensive planning.

The approved contracts include a $874,750 plumbing deal with Integrity Mechanical Inc., a $1.8 million fire protection contract with Oliver Fire Protection and Security, a $4.1 million electrical contract with QPI Electrical Company, and a $12.6 million general construction contract with Rycon Construction Inc.

The state-of-the-art facility will not only improve efficiency but also incorporate sustainable practices, with plans to install a small solar farm on the property.

The construction will also facilitate the demolition of the current annex while preserving other historical site buildings.

The new center aims to be a hub for county operations, enhancing services for the community of Bucks County.
