Rivers Casino Philadelphia is planning on opening a boutique luxury hotel inside The Battery, the redevelopment of a former PECO power plant in Fishtown, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The 62-suite hotel is expected to open by the end of this year and could be accepting reservations as early as this fall.

Guests will be able to either make a short walk to the casino along the Delaware Riverwalk or use the 24/7 complimentary shuttle and valet parking that will get them there in five minutes.

The project will make Rivers the region’s third casino to offer overnight accommodations.

“A hotel addition for Rivers Casino Philadelphia has always been part of the master plan for our Fishtown property,” said Tim Drehkoff, CEO of Rivers Casino and its parent company, Rush Street Gaming. “The location and grandeur of The Battery allowed us to join a neighboring parcel, already in progress, with historic Philly significance.”

The hotel will occupy four floors of the mix-use development. In addition to 62 suites, the hotel will also feature co-working areas, a billiards table, an indoor basketball court, along with many other amenities.
