Community College of Philadelphia Marks New Era With Rebranding Efforts
The Community College of Philadelphia has unveiled new branding for the first time in nearly two decades as it marks a new era for the school, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The new rebranding includes a block “P” fashioned out of a “1” as the main logo, as well as gold and three shades of blue added to the school’s existing black and yellow color scheme.
CCP’s new tagline is “Rise from within.”
CCP President Donald Generals said the tagline communicates the school’s pride in its role in Philadelphia and how it strives to make a difference as “the city’s college.”
“We’re trying to bottle that and put it into this brand, and internalize it as a power for the community college,” he said.
The tagline, new logo, and colors will be seen plastered across SEPTA vehicles, billboards, banners, the school bookstore, campus landscaping, and the internet as it launches a new website and online ads.
The rebrand, which has been in the works for about two-and-a-half years, comes as the college looks to separate itself from other schools in the region’s crowded higher education landscape.
It’s also part of an effort to change the narrative surrounding what attending a community college means.
