Cathryn's Cake Salon is a family business just as much as it is a bakery. The cake shop is led by a mother and her two daughters.

In West Oak Lane, customers can indulge in fresh cakes, pastries, and desserts, but one element that shines just as bright is the power of family, writes PIDC.

The family-owned bakery is powered by mother Cheryl Foat and her daughters Judeah and Vaniah Foat. Cheryl learned to bake from her mother, Cathryn, the family matriarch, who passed those lessons down to her daughters.

Together, the women have been serving up baked goods from scratch since 2013.

At Cathryn’s Cake Salon, customers can enjoy custom cakes, cobblers and pies, cookies, muffins, and various other types of confections.

In addition to selling desserts, the family behind Cathryn’s Cake Salon pass their baking skills to anyone who wants to learn with on and offsite decorating classes.

“We also are very active on our social media platforms to keep our customers engaged and additionally offer a virtual menu of what products we have in stock for the day,” said Vaniah, co-owner and executive vice president.

New items are coming this year, including ice cream, milkshakes, and more pastries.

“We found that staying true to yourself, connecting with other women entrepreneurs, and finding your unique voice in your industry can bring success in your business,” said Vaniah.
