A New Allen Iverson Documentary is Currently in the Works
Philadelphia 76ers great Allen Iverson will be the subject of a new, upcoming documentary that will air on Prime Video, writes Eva Geitheim for Newsweek.
The documentary will be a collaboration between Shaquille O’Neal and his production company, Jersey Legends, and Stephen Curry and Unanimous Media.
“I’m ready to tell my story my way, authentic and unapologetically. I look forward to people seeing a side of me they haven’t seen before,” Iverson said.
Iverson started his NBA career in 1996, after being drafted by the Sixers as the No. 1 overall pick out of Georgetown University. During his 15-year career, including 11 with the Sixers, he won the Most Valuable Player award, was an 11-time All-Star, led the league in scoring four times, and in steals three times.
Only 6 feet tall, Iverson helped transform the culture and play of the entire league.
Curry and Unanimous Media CEO Erick Peyton revealed the primary goal of producing and creating the new Iverson documentary.
“This project provides us the opportunity to pull back the curtains on Iverson’s storied career, legacy, and impact through meaningful storytelling that will appeal to audiences worldwide,” they said.
A release date for the documentary has not yet been announced.
