On Sunday, April 28, the African American Museum in Philadelphia will host a yoga session with the one-and-only jean-jaques gabriel.

With April being National Minority Health Month, the African American Museum in Philadelphia is welcoming acclaimed yoga instructor, jean-jaques gabriel, for an event.

Jaques-gabriel will guide visitors through an intentional practice of Rest and Resilience in an event at the museum titled, “Reset & (re)Focus: Resilience & Yoga With jean-jaques gabriel.”

More specifically, the guest instructor will guide visitors through a slow-moving “Align & Flow” yoga class to facilitate more comfort in our present bodies and to invite opening in areas that often hold stress.

Participants will then be able to explore guided tennis ball self-massage for extended release and relaxation.

While there, visitors can also melt away their winter blues and lean into the promise of a blossoming spring to the backdrop of one of the museum’s current exhibitions, (re)Focus 2024: Anna Russel Jones.

All in all, guests will leave the session with valuable tools that can be practiced beyond the class, with additional time to explore the other exhibits the museum has to offer.

All levels of individuals are welcomed to attend, no experience necessary.

Guests are just advised to bring your own mat. However, limited mats will be available on a first come, first served basis.

AcroYoga demonstration is set to follow.
