Campbell Soup Features Jason Kelce on Limited Edition Chunky Soup Can
Campbell Soup wants to make sure its Chunky soup brand remains popular with consumers so it’s releasing a limited-edition Jason Kelce Legend can.
The recently-retired Philadelphia Eagles player spoke to a crowd of Campbell employees Wednesday at the company’s Camden campus, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Kelce called Campbell’s Chunky soup an “iconic part” of his childhood.
“This is a brand that I’ve identified with my whole life, so to come be drafted to Philadelphia, to come and be a part of this partnership, it’s come full circle,” he said to the crowd.
The Jason Kelce Legend can, containing chicken noodle soup, features a silhouette of Kelce’s facial hair, his signature, name and jersey number.
Customers have to enter for a chance to win one of the 620 Legend Edition cans, though strong initial demand for the special product convinced Campbells to double its production of the can.
Campbells hopes to follow up on Kelce’s popularity with more limited-edition legend Chunky soups.
“There are other legends, and over time I can see that we’re going to continue to expand this further,” said Mick Beekhuizen, president of Campbell’s meals and beverages division,
