In February, a 1,500-person technology consulting firm moved back to the Greater Philadelphia area after appointing a new CEO, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Bridgenext which has been headquartered in Florida for the past 5 years has also recently gone through a rebranding.

The firm, formerly known as Emtec, has named John Castleman as its CEO and took a 5,000-square-foot lease at Two Tower Bridge in Conshohocken.

Both Castleman and the company have strong ties to the area. The tech firm was originally founded in Radnor in 2001 and was based there until 2019 when it moved to Jacksonville, Florida.

Castleman has a lot of experience with the Philadelphia tech scene having started out at Radnor-based Safeguard Scientifics and later being appointed CEO of Conshohocken-based portfolio company Alliance Global Services.

“Our plan is to grow Bridgenext exponentially over the next few years, so we will be acquisitive,” Castleman said.

“We’re constantly looking at acquisitions…. Because my roots are here, I expect we will grow our Philadelphia presence disproportionately fast relative to other geographies.”

The new headquarters will be home to 10 to 15 of its employees, including Castleman, the chief revenue officer, the chief human resources officer, and the head of marketing.
